Sapelo Island - Where Times Are Changing -

Oct. 17th, 2019

Cost: $129 per person

Sapelo is owned by the state of GA, except for the community of Hog Hammock where some land ownership dates back to slave days. Residents are beginning to sell off their property, so now is the time to see Sapelo before vacation homes become the norm.

Ferry to this barrier island 45 people call home; tour via a school bus with a local guide to see the mansion, light house, sugar mill ruins and marine institute. We interact with islanders, climb the lighthouse, have a Lowcountry feast in the restaurant of one of the best cooks in the region and then, stroll on the beach with no one in sight for miles.

Trip cost includes: transportation via bus and ferry, tour, lunch and snacks.
